Frozen Banana Bites Filled With Chocolate and Peanut Butter

Can you imagine how good these frozen banana bites, which are filled with chocolate and peanut butter, taste? It's the freezing that changes everything in this easy healthy, dairy-free, gluten-free, and Weight Watchers friendly dessert.

These bites are naturally sweet, contain significant protein from the peanut butter, can be low in fat if you use peanut butter powder for the nut butter, and can be low in WW points. It's a great go-to snack when you something that tastes rich and decadent but guilt-free!

I know the title says it's filled with peanut butter (any nut butter will work), but I substitute peanut butter powder (affiliate link). If you are not familiar with peanut butter powder, it has the taste of peanut butter, but the fat has been removed. You can reconstitute it with a little almond milk or nut cream.  Less fat and means fewer calories, but just as much taste! This little substitution brings the WW points way down.

I usunsweetened organic cocoa powder (affiliate link), organic peanut butter powder (affiliate link), and almond milk and mixed it to make a paste. I substituted this lower point spread to use as a filling instead of the peanut butter and melted chocolate.

My WW mix of 1 heaping tablespoon of cocoa powder
and 1 tablespoon of peanut butter powder with 2 tablespoons of almond milk mixture
It should be a thick paste.(optional: add a few drops of liquid stevia)

***If you want this dessert to be vegan, make sure that your chocolate chips are dairy-free.
I make it in minutes, freeze it for 2-3 hours or up to a week, and enjoy it immensely. Not only are the banana slices frozen, but the thin layer of peanut butter and chocolate freeze, and all of it tastes amazing.

The filling gets hard and crunchy from the freezer,
so thaw for 5 minutes  before attempting to eat

I would thaw them somewhat before serving for maybe about 5 minutes

My other fast and easy go-to snack is usually my rich chocolatey WW one-minute chocolate pudding which surprisingly is made with very similar ingredients despite tasting alike!

Now I have another Weight Watcher friendly recipe that satisfies my cravings for something "good" at night when I want to be "bad" and eat some goodies! Nothing to feel guilty about with this treat!

Ingredients:
2 ripe bananas, sliced
1 heaping tablespoon of nut butter in a small ramekin or bowl
1/4 cup of dairy-free and gluten-free chocolate chips in a small ramekin or bowl, melted
( I place the chocolate chips in the microwave for 1 minute) or use a double boiler.

Directions:
Place sliced bananas on a plate. Spread a layer of melted chocolate and then a layer of peanut butter on each slice. Cover with another slice and freeze for a minimum of 2-3 hours or as long as a week.

Weight Watcher's Version:
Follow the same directions but substitute the peanut butter powder (affiliate link)
mixture for the filling.

Notes:
1. I use organic peanut butter powder or organic nut butter of choice
2. Cocoa powder-I use this one unsweetened organic cocoa powder (affiliate link)
3. You can add coconut, sprinkles, cinnamon, etc.
