What is the alternative to using a natural essential oil? Mold is usually treated and eliminated using toxic fungicides, which some feel may be as toxic to health as the mold. In addition, fungicides leave a residual toxic outgassing effect that essential oils to not pose.

The author, Dr. Close was a victim of mold infestation and experimented using essential oils until he eventually found a solution to his own mold problems and then worked with others. His book includes documentation of 30 case histories of mold remediation meticulously reported with scientific charts and data.

If you or anyone you know is confronted with a mold problem, by all means read this book.
Dr. Close's 10 step protocol will guide you through the process of how and what to do. The information can be used and should be applied by any mold specialist.

Dr. Close is not encouraging anyone to try to tackle the elimination of a serious mold problem by yourself. His book encourages the reader to engage the services of a professional who can easily follow his non toxic protocol.

Does his method work? My experience is yes!
A friend of mine ,who lives in hot and humid Florida, developed mold in her condo as a result of a leaking tube in the back of her refrigerator. The back of the refrigerator, the wall in back of the appliance, and adjacent cabinets were affected by mold. In addition, mold spores spread airborne throughout the condo and mold began to grow on dining room chairs, sneakers, purses, and other fabric based items.

She Found Mold after Returning From a Long Vacation
My friend had been on vacation and found the mold when she returned. She immediately called a mold remediator and requested that he test the air quality in the condo. The lab report revealed extremely high unacceptable levels of Pennicillium mold throughout the condo. The recommendation was to remove everything from the condo, bomb the condo with fungacide, cut out and replace the wall, air vac all the walls and floors, and clean all the ducts and air system.

My friend was adamant about using a natural product to bomb the air as opposed to fungicide. She read this book and then found a mold specialist who was willing to follow the 10 step protocol after she gave him the book to read. The specialist was skeptical and only agreed to use the essential oils if my friend agreed to pay double for a second treatment using fungicide if the essential oil's  didn't work. (mold remediation is very costly). In addition, to the essential oil bombing, he also dried out the wall, replaced some of the wall, air scrubbed with air suction machines, cleaned the ducts and air system and whatever else he normally. My friend also had to wash every item of clothing, bedding, towels, etc. that was in the house. She used laundry detergent with either a 1/2 cup of vinegar ( which helps kill mold spores) or 1/2 cup Borax. She used hot water.

Miraculously, the specialist agreed that the essential oil worked even better than the fungicide. It was a win win situation.

Dr. Close used Thieves essential oil by that is made by Young Living in case studies.

Don't forget about this book. If you or anyone you know develops mold, this book may literally be a life saver for anyone who prefers using a non toxic approach. I highly recommend reading
Nature's Mold Rx.

Don't Get Stressed Out While Dealing With Mold

Mold remediation can be exhausting and  very stressful because you may need to pack up and remove much of your belongings from the premises. While you are taking care of the mold, don't forget to take care of yourself.  A rich green miracle smoothie can help bring needed nourishment during a stressful situation or  you can relax with my a homemade calming herbal Ayurvedic cardamom tea. Both can be made quickly and without stress.
