FISH-LESS-FISH is great for vegans AND for fish eaters as well. ( I don't have a photo of the fish-less-fish yet- the above photo is real salmon)

Why did they invent it?  Watch the video at the end of the post. Short and Interesting

Much of the population love to eat fish, however our oceans are being OVER-FISHED and soon we will have to deal with shortages and even running out of fish!!

That means fish will continue to become more and more expensive, even if you can get it. AND....there is another problem

Seward, Alaska, Boats, Ships, Sailboats

Problem Big Problem with Fish

Fish may also contain mercury, micro-plastic residues, and many other toxins (even wild caught) that may not really healthy for us or our kids.

Pollution, Garbage, Degradation

A tiny group of scientists in Israel are coming up with a plant-based fish which looks and tastes (so they say) like salmon and its INCREDBLE. It is called Plant-ish
Gotta watch this very short, very entertaining, and very informative video which will tell you all about it !! YAY!!

Hope the video works for you- someone said they had difficulty.. please let me know in the comments if you have a problem.

Is this product gluten-free ? - I haven't seen the ingredient's yet but it says it's made from pea protein and tastes and looks like the real deal. I will continue to look for the ingredients and update.

Sharing on Weekend Cooking at The Intrepid Reader and Baker where anyone can share a food related post.

  1. There has been tremendous progress in plant based food production. It maybe the way of the future.

  2. I'd love to try it.

The future for plant-protein foods sounds promising.

  3. This is a great alternative from the look of it. I wonder if it tastes as good as it looks?

  4. I'm looking forward to this recipe.......Abrazotes, Marcela

  5. Interesting -- will have to look for this. I've used some of the meatless meat substitutes, but haven't been impressed (although it's quite possible I bought products that aren't that good). Anyway, nice post -- thanks.

  6. It's good there are alternatives for people to choose from.

    All the best Jan

  7. But I love fish! I would give this a try.

  8. Wow, this is the first I'm hearing of this. i do love the impossible burger, so I know that things like this are possible. Thanks for sharing!

  9. Nothing fishy about this! I must agree that this salmon looks like the real thing. Very ingenious of those scientists, and a wonderful alternative for all the reasons you list. :)

  10. It will be interesting to see if this becomes a commercial viability and what it tastes like..
