Have You Been "BOOed? ???

Halloween sign

Have you been Boo-ed??

We had just finished dinner on my older son's backyard deck (with  him and his family).
As they walked us to our car in their driveway to say good night, the kids started to scream with excitement,

"We've been BOO'd"!!!! what a great idea for safe Halloween fun!

Suddenly all four of them (the kids and mom and dad) started to run to the front of the house where a large Halloween sign sat on their lawn that said, Boo! Understanding what was happening, they ran to their front door to find a package with bags of Halloween goodies!

You, ve been boo'd

Is This New????
I don't know if this has been a phenomenon  in previous years, but it seems to be a fun thing to do for Halloween this year during Covid when many neighborhoods will not be participating in Trick or Treating. Sometimes the BOO-ers are anonymous and sometimes they leave a name, but it's always done secretly without the family seeing them leave their goodies!

They have been BOO-ed twice, so far, and have been very excited about it!

It seems that everyone finds innovative new ways to celebrate-even during Covid!!

  6. Lovely Halloween decoration, and great idea during this Covid situation. Kids are always excited for Halloween, so we have to find ways to celebrate trick or treating in a safe way. Thank you for this post. I'm so glad to connect with you, Judee!

  8. As far as I know, this hasn't caught on here yet. I'd best ask the grandkids, they will know.

  9. That is definitely a fun idea for Halloween, Judee! Halloween is getting bigger here in Australia too and although it's pretty safe, I am not quite sure yet what we'll be doing with the kids. This sounds like a great idea to try out - thanks for the inspiration.

    1. Interesting. I guess it's been around for a while, but I never heard about it and I was never booed! Maybe its reviving during Covid since many kids won't be trick or treating.
