Guess What I saw in the water outside my condo last week !!

I was beyond excited seeing a manatee swimming around and eating the foliage in the intracoastal waters outside of my condo building. I think he was a baby.
Do you remember Maximillian the Manatee? He is the star of my friends' children's book ! Available on Amazon. Great gift for any kid to learn about manatees!

Beautiful photos. ❤️ How lovely to see a manatee.
ReplyDeleteNot sure if I have ever seen a manatee...so plump and cute. That's a gorgeous photo of you and your family. I always LOVE the view outside your living room.
ReplyDeleteHow exciting to see a manatee. You live in a beautiful place, so close to the ocean.
ReplyDeleteI am so envious! My entire life has been devoted to nature and I have tried several times to see a Manatee, without success. We have not been kind to these gentle creatures and they suffer greatly from collisions with boats. I hope they will be robustly protected so that their numbers can rebound and more people will be able to enjoy them. Have a great day.
ReplyDeleteUnreal! I was mildly obsessed with manatees as a kid; I had a stuffed manatee that I absolutely could not sleep without, and of course, I named him Manny, being that creative. 😅 Anyhow, it's stunningly beautiful in your neck of the woods. What a paradise on earth.
ReplyDeleteI love seeing manatees. We used to see them all of the time in Ft. Myers. Unfortunately, I read that a number of them died this winter there due to the cold weather they had.
ReplyDeleteGreat picture of you and your family!!
Wonderful photos and a wonderful creature :-D
ReplyDeleteHow cool is that! I've never seen one. PS: Part of a comment might come over. I hit something with my hand. Wishing you a wonderful sunny weekend ahead. Nice heatwave here today too. 19 degrees F. Break out the swimwear.
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful! They need our help to continue to be a strong species, and not become endangered.
ReplyDeleteSo neat...Have I seen a Manatee...I think so, but not sure. What an awesome view you have from the condo. Such a sweet Blessing.. Enjoy the beach...it looks good on you!

ReplyDeleteI would have been giddy with that spotting. I've only seen them once in Florida and it was such an exciting thing to see in person. To have them so close to your home is incredible!
ReplyDeleteCool!
ReplyDeleteSo exciting to see a manatee up close in the natural environment!
ReplyDeletesoooo exciting to see a manatee in the wild. your condo is beautiful, with gorgeous views. i enjoy the different seasons and had covid during the snowstorm so it was an inside time for me anyway. i usually go out in the yard when it snows but not this storm. i wonder if i would miss having snow??
ReplyDeleteYou have such a fabulous view, no matter where you look. What a haven. But yes, that had to be the biggest-ever joy -- seeing the manatee so close! Now THAT is a good day!
