In My Kitchen for June

I'm joining Sherry's IMK ( In My Kitchen) for the month of June to give my readers a peek into what's in my kitchen this month.

We just returned from 6 months in Florida, so I'll be sharing from my Pennsylvania kitchen this month.

I bought a fun serving spinner at Homegoods for outdoor serving. It holds quite a bit of vegetables, fruit, and there is room for dips too. It spins making it easy for guests to reach everything. I'll be using it outside on our deck!

Green Retro Bowls Filled With Watermelon-
This watermelon was perfect for hot humid weather. Yesterday was 90 degrees and this watermelon was cooling and refreshing. I love the green retro bowls.

My May Netflix Recommendations

I'm always looking for something good to watch on Netflix or Prime, so I thought I would share the Nexflix shows that I'm watching with my readers.

Tv, Remote, Home, Netflix, Watch, Video

The Lincoln Lawyer - Netflix
I enjoyed this fast paced legal drama starring Manuel Garcia-Rulfo as Mickey Haller (the LincolnLawyer). Mickey Haller, an attorney known to work from his car (a Lincoln), inherits a colleague's law practice and court cases- including a high profile murder mystery case.

Calling all peanut butter and chocolate lovers!!!

Looking for a really easy, yet decadent rich dessert that you can whip up very quickly (in minutes) that is healthy and tasty?

You won't regret trying this peanut butter chocolate "nice cream" that I make using just 4 ingredients: frozen bananas, fat-free (PB2) peanut butter powder (see notes), cocoa powder (I use this one ( Link to Unsweetened cocoa )and a 1/4 cup of almond milk. And it can be made in a strong blender. I use my Nutribullet Rx.

Tofu "Egg" Salad - Tasty Summer Salad

tofu vegan egg salad

If you are looking for ways to use tofu, you might enjoy this tofu salad spread that looks similar to egg salad. It can be eaten on a plate with other vegetables, with crackers, or on a sandwich. It's quite tasty and versatile. My favorite way to eat it with a big slab of tomato on some gluten free bread.

Caesar Salad Dressing is Outrageously Delicious -Vegan

great salad dressing with a salad

Do you like Caesar salad?
I love it, and I think it's all about a good dressing!!

Making homemade salad dressing is very easy and often healthier than consuming commercially bought salad dressing because homemade is often frequently lower in sodium, chemicals, and oils.

Caesar dressing is one of my favorites - so I was blown away by the taste of this recipe for oil-free vegan Caesar salad dressing.

Mother's Day History

 The History of Mother's Day

I am happy to share a little history about Mother's Day, especially
since it was Anna Jarvis of Philadelphia (I'm from Philadelphia area) who proposed and campaigned for the idea !

Happy Mothers Day, Flower

If you take a walk in center city Philadelphia, you will see numerous signs posted by The Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission commemorating important historical people, buildings, and points of interest that contributed to Pennsylvania history.

Philadelphia, Market Street, City, Urban

Ann Jarvis is on one of those signs at the corner of Juniper street and Market Street marking her contribution to the history of Mother's Day!

Happy May and Joyful Flowers

Hyacinth, Purple, Pastel, Spring, Nature
                April showers bring May flowers

Hopefully all the rain has passed and we will be enjoying some nice sunny warmer dry weather

Being in Florida, I miss the blooming of all my spring flowers back in Pennsylvania such as lilacs, crocuses, daffodils, hyacinths, peonies, etc.

Today I'm posting floral photos from the past when I was home in the spring and a link to some foods I cooked last May.
